Who's Got Eastgate's Bracelet?

Not only did the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event champion, The Great Dane Peter Eastgate has announced about his retirement from poker, but he decided to sell the bracelet as well. Looks like the young lad got really sick of the whole poker thing. However, good news is that it's not that he had wasted all his winnings in parties and is now is desperate need of money – not at all. The money Eastgate receives for his trophy is going to UNICEF.

The auction on eBay has finished yesterday and the bracelet was bought for $147,500. One man to officially state he's going for the purchase was none other than everyone's favorite poker pro Tony G. “What am I going to do with Peter’s bracelet?” asked Tony in his official blog on PartyPoker. “Well, the plan is to get it adapted into a special collar for my trusted German Shepherd Zasko. The ultimate dog bling – as my gladiator and protector he deserves to be kitted out in such style.”

Tony then went on talking about how great Zasko is and how much he deserves the bracelet. Tony dedicated two of his latest blog posts to Eastgate's bracelet and Zasko saying that his dog would also be a great ambassador for UNISEF: “Zasko and I spoke to the Great Dane Peter Eastgate on the phone and the only thing I would really like with the bracelet is for Zasko to become a global UNICEF ambassador. He can join the likes of Roger Moore, David Beckham, Roger Federer and Lionel Messi. Hell, even Ricky Martin is an ambassador so if he can, Zasko can.”

Maria Ho Joins Team UB

Maria Ho, a sexy Asian-American poker player became another pro with a patch. She has recently signed a sponsorship deal with an online poker site UB.com to promote it in live tournaments wearing UB gear as well as to play online poker on the site. Maria also joins the UB pro team which already includes such poker celebrities as Annie Duke, Joe Sebok, Maria's best friend Tiffany Michelle and of course, the poker brat Phil Hellmuth.

“I am very happy and excited about being a part of Team UB and being included in a list of Team pros that have done a lot for and in the game such as Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke, as well as the newer and highly successful members of the Team such as Eric Baldwin and Adam Levy,” said Maria after signing the deal. “This is an exciting time to be a part of Team UB since I know their plans to move their brand forward and their vision for the future especially with the guidance of Joe Sebok who has such an insightful perspective. I believe I can bring a unique and fresh point of view to the Team and I hope people will see that.”

Maria Ho will also write her own blog and make videos which will be available in both English and Mandarin Chinese. This should be very much appreciated by the Asian poker fans and attract even more of them to play on UB Poker.
