Mixed Hold'em Strategy
Tip #1
The main goal in this game is to bust out the players who tend to play very aggressive in each round. For instance, if some player tries to play as much hands as possible during the limit game round it means that the range of hands they play is very wide. When playing against such an opponent one should not mind their position at the table as the most important thing is to gain advantage by re-raising them both preflop and postflop.
Tip #2
It is also wise to look for the skilled no-limit poker players who call a lot during the limit games. One should be aware of such “observers” as they are sure to follow the game and the player's hand very closely until the river to see what cards were played. It is best to keep to the standard
poker strategy when playing against such players – call strong hands and not to bluff, especially under the low limits. If the player is strong in bluffing they should wait for the no-limit round.
Tip #3
However, if someone at the table plays tight during the limit round of Mixed Hold'em and becomes more loose in no-limit game (this is the case with most of the Mixed Hold'em players) their opponent should change their game accordingly. In other words, if the player observes most of the flops just because its too easy for them to call a $2 blind, their opponent should start playing a more aggressive game preflop when having a strong starting hand.
Tip #4
Its the same with the hands that put the player in a better position when playing against such opponent. Players who check-call in Limit Hold'em with drawing hands can be read immediately and taken advantage of. There is a huge difference between check-call on a $5 bet and check-call on a pot-sized bet. One should observe such players and forbid them from getting poor cards.
Conclusion
Those who can master Mixed Hold'em might get some significant income from playing it. It's important to observe the other players, take notes and to be prepared to switch not only when the game requires it, but also during the round. One should make their opponents think and guess during the game and should also be prepared to make use of the certain game moments for their benefit. Especially when new players appear in a Mixed Holdem game.
